Construction is staged in an effort to minimize closures and detours. Highway 101 will have 2 lanes open in each direction during daytime construction. Throughout 2017, roads will remain open with lanes shifted as needed. Please note there are additional temporary closures and detours planned later in the project. Please check back for detours in years 2018, 2019, and 2020.
The following maps show the signed detours for 2017. As detours are scheduled, timing will be updated below.
The Highway 101 southbound on-ramp at Casitas Pass Road will be closed for 2 weeks in 2017. Detour signs will direct motorists to enter southbound Highway 101 at the on-ramp at Bailard Avenue.
The sidewalk along Ogan Road between Vallecito Place and Linden Avenue will be closed for 2 months in 2017. Pedestrians will be directed to use sidewalks along Pacific Village Drive during the closure.
The bikeway along Carpinteria Creek will be closed for 7 months during 2017 to enable construction on the Carpinteria Creek bridges. Bicyclists will be directed to use bike paths along Carpinteria Avenue, Bailard Avenue, and Via Real during the closure.
The northbound Highway 101 off-ramp at Casitas Pass will close for up to 1 month for ramp and shoulder improvements beginning as early as October 16th. This work is being advanced ahead of schedule. During the temporary closure, a detour will be signed using the northbound Highway 101 off-ramp at Bailard Avenue continuing on Carpinteria Avenue to Casitas Pass.
