The Highway 101: Linden and Casitas Pass Project is a combination of freeway and local street improvements that make local travel easier in Carpinteria and prepare for future freeway widening. This $60 million construction project is phased to keep roadways open during daytime hours and minimize impacts to neighbors and commuters.

Main Components

Local street and freeway improvemetnts are color-coded based on the new, accelerated schedule that finishes in 2019. Progress is ongoing for items listed in 2016 and 2017, and new components begin construction in 2018.

New bridges will be built over Carpinteria Creek. The Highway 101 bridges over Carpinteria Creek will be raised 10 feet to reduce the flood impacts by enabling better water flow under the bridges.
