Construction Update & Cameras
Timeframe: August 13 - August 29, 2026
Spotlight: In Montecito, crews will begin work in the San Ysidro and Oak Creek channels beneath Highway 101 on Monday, Aug. 17, to remove accumulated sediment and reshape portions of the creek channels. The work is expected to take approximately four days, with daytime work from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and intermittent traffic control in the area. In Santa Barbara North, foundation drilling is underway for the Cabrillo Boulevard Undercrossing, and temporary support work continues Aug. 25 ahead of retaining wall construction. In Santa Barbara South, traffic patterns at the Spring Road/Olive Mill Road southbound off-ramp have returned to pre-construction conditions. Crews also completed installation of new, visible "STOP" signs at the intersection of Spring/Olive Mill Road and Depot Road and enhanced pavement striping.
